Mexico Tapachula - Chiapas Max Havelaar.
Cultivated at the foot of the Tacana and El Triunfo volcanoes on high plateaus culminating at 1500m altitude, in the heart of a land of natural and ecological reserves, these plantations benefit from the shade offered by vast forests, which allows the coffee to develop its hazelnut-chocolate flavours enhanced by notes of spices.
In addition to being certified Max Havelaar for Fair Trade and Organic, this 100% Arabica coffee also carries the "Bird Friendly" label of the Smithsonian Foundation for the protection of migratory birds.
This label is only awarded to cooperatives that make the strictest commitments to the protection of birds and ecosystems as a whole. CertifiedBird Friendlycoffees grow under bio-diverse shade that provides habitats for migratory birds and other wildlife, locks atmospheric carbon within the forest and thus combats climate change. The certification criteria cover a wide range of parameters from canopy height to the diversity of insect species that live where the coffee is grown.
